ABOUT THE PEST

Identifying Rodents

Rats and mice are commonplace in homes and businesses all over Australia. Most of us have spotted a mouse or a rat and probably know the difference. Rats are larger than mice, but there are a couple of different species, as well as native types of bush mice and rats. The ones we deal with are usually house mice, roof rats, and brown rats.

Where the Pest is Found

Rodents can be incredibly unhygienic, spreading all manner of bacteria and diseases. They usually find your way into your home through open doors, windows, cracks and holes. And once they are in, they’re incredibly elusive. You might not even see them, but droppings and chewed food packages are a telltale sign that you’ve got an unwanted visitor.

At Oracle Services, our team of pest control specialists utilises a range of technology and environmentally friendly treatments to remove rodents for good.

Treatment Options for Rodents

Marker

Professional Pest Control

Consult a pest control expert for serious rodent infestations. We can assess the situation and apply a tailored, effective treatment to get rid of rats or mice quickly.

Marker

Chemical pest control

We utilise solid chemicals and concentrates that eliminate both rats and mice in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Marker

Soft baits

Soft baits are effective against rats, as they are very attractive to food-centric rodents. They contain Bitrex and can be used in most areas.

Marker

Grain and pellet baits

Pellet baits are useful for dealing with rat burrows and nests. These baits can be placed outside the entrance to a burrow.

Marker

Mouse traps and rat traps

Traps are a useful tool against a small population of rodents. However, when dealing with larger infestations, different treatments need to be used.

Rodent Prevention Tips

Marker

Keep food sealed properly

Rodents are attracted to poorly packaged or spilled food, so sealing your food in airtight containers is an important step.

Marker

Patch up holes and cracks

Rats and mice will find their way into your home or business through the smallest cracks and holes. Patching this is essential.

Marker

Be vigilant for droppings

It’s important to always keep an eye out for rodent droppings. If you spot them, it’s time to take action to prevent a large infestation.

Marker

Regular Inspections

Conduct or frequent rodent inspections on areas you think might be at risk. Or, better yet, hire the experts!
